Driving from Melbourne

• About 1 hour drive to the east of the city
• Take the Eastern Freeway (M3) towards Ringwood. Go through Mullum Mullum Tunnel after about 25km (this is a Tollroad - pre-paid like congestion charge), see driving in australia.
• Take 1st exit after tunnel - Ringwood Bypass.

Domestic Flights

• It is easy to get cheap flights around Australia.
• You may be able to negotiate free internal flights with your international flight.
• Cheap airlines out of Melbourne Tullamarine airport include Jetstar and Virgin Blue. NB best to book from Tullamarine & not Avalon airport which is a long way from the city

International Flights 

• Guests from Europe unfortunately have a long flight of about 23 hours ahead of them to get to Melbourne.
• There are several airlines that fly to Melbourne. They include re-fuelling and usually change plane in either south east Asia or in the UAE.
• Airlines include Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Thai, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Etihad & Qatar Airways. Virgin & BA also fly to Sydney.
• They are all generally of good quality & have competitive prices.
• You could book with the individual airlines but it may be worth comparing prices on www.ebookers.com or find a deal via www.trailfinders.com.

From Melbourne Airport

Tullamarine airport is located 25km NW of the city & takes about 20 mins along the Tullamarine Freeway which is a Tollroad - see driving in Australia. There is no trainlink.

A taxi will cost up to $50.

The skybus runs every 10 mins 24hours a day to the city centre & costs $26 return.

Train from Melbourne

• Takes about 1hr from Flinders Street Station in the city.
• Take trains on the Lilydale line.
• Use http://www.connexmelbourne.com.au for timetables.
• Need to take taxi then to Stones about 10km away.
• If you are doing it this way then allow for plenty of time to get there.

• After 2km turn left onto Maroondah Highway towards Lilydale.
• Continue for 25km out of the city through Croydon, Lilydale & Coldstream.
• Turn left off the Maroondah Highway onto St Huberts Road.
• Stones is 1.5km on the right
